Turning someone down…

There are times when instead of hunting, we are the ones being hunted. But the problem is, often, we can’t reciprocate the girl’s attraction for us. Maybe you just don’t think you’ll click or she’s not really your type of woman. So we are left at a dilemma (as if our lives aren’t already full of it…). How do we let her down the proper way?

Well the first thing to do is to analyze what type of woman she is. Every woman reacts differently to rejection, of course they’re going to be hurt about it but still their reactions will vary from one to the other. So if you know how they’re going to react, then you can choose the proper way to handle letting her down.

Some questions that you could ask are if she is the insecure type. She is if during your dates all she did was try to please you and doesn’t want to talk about herself. Or you could ask yourself whether you were leading her on or if she’s new to the dating game or if she dates only men like you. Stuff like that. It’ll give you an idea what to expect when you actually do reject her.

So how do you let her down? The best and most manly way to do is to confront her directly. Turning down someone could be a really messy affair so even with direct confrontation, things can still turn ugly. But the main thing is she has to hear the actual word “no” from you. This eliminates the possibility of sending a wrong message or being vague. Besides it shows respect to the woman you’re turning down. She’d much rather hear it directly that find out about it some other way.

But of course, as I said before, this doesn’t mean that it will go peacefully. She could become very confrontational so be prepared to endure that. The main thing to remember is to be honest about the answers that you’re going to give. If you don’t think it’s not going to work then tell her outright. Leading her on to expect something that’s not gonna happen is an insult to her intelligence so don’t do that.

So in the same manner, never try letting her down just by disappearing. Don’t do the “don’t answer her calls” routine. What you could do is to give her gradual hints and hope she catches on. Be unresponsive when she mentions future dates or keep your conversations short. If she asks you directly, you could say things like “you’ve just got out of a relationship and aren’t eager to get into one right away” or that “you’re planning to get back with your ex” to start the break up conversation. Just don’t avoid her. Face her like a man.

Also never let someone do the deed for you. Don’t lie. Don’t stand her up. In short, don’t be a coward. Turning down someone is hard, even if it isn’t for you, it will be for the girl, so just keep in mind that you’re doing her a favor by breaking up. If you’re not happy or you just don’t like her then there’s no reason to remain acting like you do. Just like what Nike says. Just do it!
