Talking about religion on a date can lead to a conflict of opinions when handled incorrectly. This tackles sensitivity and tolerance so going on about it can only result in indignation. You don’t want to be exchanging slurs on the first date. For the most part, it’s better to not discuss this topic at all.
Politics and World affairs
Another no no. Don’t go into detail about political parties and cross continental wars. Those are boring! Significant yes, but highly inappropriate to talk about on a date. First dates are about getting to know one another so talk about your personal experiences instead. Besides most women hate talking about those stuff anyway so all you’re going to be doing is turning the off.
Jobs
Also try not to talk about jobs. About how you hate it or how much you make. First dates shouldn’t turn into a rant fest. And talking about your salary will only make your date uncomfortable. Money matters don’t translate to engaging conversations. Imagine if you find out she makes more than you on the first date? The result: awkward evening and bruised ego.
Achievements
Don’t bombard her with all of the awards you’ve earned, challenges you’ve conquered or games you’ve won. A little cockiness already goes a long way. Don’t go overboard. You don’t want to come off as self-centered and self-involved. The date includes two people. If you continue to do this, then you might as well have had a date with a mirror.
Actually these topics are not absolute taboos. There are instances that may make talking about these topics appropriate. See that’s the main thing. It’s sensitivity to your date. If you pay enough attention to your date, you wouldn’t need someone to tell you what topics to discuss. You’ll know them enough on your own. So be sure to gauge your date’s reaction to the topics that you bring up so you could effectively steer where the conversation should be going.
